3/25/2023 0 Comments Borderlands 2 season pass g2a![]() The pandemic probably caused Gearbox and their development costs some real pain, so I hope that's playing into the price point, financial damage control to keep things running, as opposed to just being greedy. There's also going to be another cosmetic set, Disciples of the Vault, included with S2.īut yeah, overall it is a bit odd, and some different branding could've done them a lot of favors. ![]() I'd like to note on the "reselling" thing though, really it's more an alternate way of getting those Final Form cosmetics, for people who might've bought the S1 DLCs individually instead of the pass. Looking at the overall ecosystem of B元 content, in terms of base game, free updates, and paid expansions, I don't really find the asking price here too ridiculous. The main thing I'd really argue against is that it "seems like it would be free content". This season 2 is kind of a ripoff and is not at all ashamed about embracing that fact.Įven as much as I've gone to bat for this pass, you make some decent points. Especially after the first one.Īll AAA mainstream games are about profit, and can be predatory with monetization sometime, but usually they try to hide it or somehow sweeten the deal. The contents of "season 2" is still ACTUALLY cool content, but it's pretty small stuff, and not what I'd expect from a season pass. So, this means paying for both the new expansions seperately for the same $30 price tag, instead of getting them in a bundle for a slight discount. Buying season pass 1 and 2 literally means paying for the same content twice. Then they have cosmetics bundled with it (and figured into the price) that were included with the previous season pass. There have even been FREE updates with more content. The whole "season 2" is comparable to a single season 1 DLC. It would be better off included with season one, or just sold as a standalone DLC pack. That would hardly qualify as a "season" of content, though. If you included designer/director cut into a single $15 pack, then it would be pretty comparable. What qualifies as an expansion pack can be subjective, but comparing this 15 dollar pack to a season one offering, they aren't even comparable. What I'm saying is the PRICE for basically a mini-game type deal and a skill tree being sold as a full priced expansion pack. So, for them, the first DLC basically amounts to a $15 skill tree, which kinda sucks. One thing I will say, is that there are a fair amount of people who aren't enjoying/aren't interest in Arms Race. I'm not strictly OPPOSED to skill trees being a part of paid DLC, although it seems like something that probably shouldn't be since it's multiplayer. People can go ahead and downvote me, but I'm not complaining about the game itself or the content being terrible, I'm complaint only about the the bundling and pricing of the second season pass/DLCs. Again, I'm not saying this is BAD content, just the pricing/packaging doesn't seem right. Then, the 2 expansions (or basically ONE they split) costs $30, same as season pass, so there's no way for you to get the "season" at a bundle discount or avoid purchasing already owned content twice. This means that it would be stupid to purchase season pass 2 for you. ![]() Assumed you owned season one, then you already own the skins. Either that or just included it all with season one seeing how it such a small amount of content. How do they want $30 for some bonus content? They should have just dropped the season label, released designer/directors cut expansions bundled as a single DLC to make it worth the $15, and threw the skins up for like $1.99 each, assuming you don't already own them. I'm just saying the "season pass" or even CALLING it a season, is stupid. Now, I'm not calling the content included with "season 2" shit. Season 2 literally feels like they scraped around the bottom of the barrel to find some cut/unfinished content that didn't make it into the base game/season one, and they bundled it with content already included with season one to make it seem like more of a "package". Like, there were multiple seasons of releases, and each one came with large swathes of content and new areas, as well as delving into the lore. Why are they reselling people things they already own? I don't own it, yet looking under what's included, most of what's there was ALREADY INSTALLED. ![]() ALREADY OWNED? Like, I was legit confused trying to figure out what season 2 even was. It's some bonus content, and some skins that people. Firstly, there's nothing "seasony" about it. Season pass? This literally feels like something that would be a free content update. ![]()
